As the world moves towards the digital age, it is becoming natural for all businesses to be part of the digital world. Digital marketing is the process of creating an online presence for your business to market your products and services on the internet which has a variety of platforms to promote your business such as social media, websites, emails, messages, etc.

Now to answer the second part of your question:

What are the basics of digital marketing?

It contains a number of technical terms but don’t get overwhelmed, it becomes much easier when you learn it from the right mentors!

SEO – Search Engine Optimization Simply put, it is all about driving organic traffic to your website by optimizing your website to rank your page at the top of the search engine results page (SERP). SEM – Search Engine Marketing The best way to explain it would be to promote your business on search engines like Google, Firefox, Safari, etc. How do you recognize one? “Advertising” will be highlighted in your search results.

SMM – Social Media Marketing In the digital age, everyone is aware of the different social media platforms. Social media marketing is all about promoting your business on these social media platforms organically and/or paid.

Content Marketing – This is all about promoting your content on different platforms. This could be blogs, YouTube videos, Instagram reels, Facebook posts, etc. Email Marketing – Sending emails to promote your products and/or services is email marketing. You can send these targeted emails to 10 or even 1,000 users, which constitutes email marketing.

Here are the highlights of the basics of digital marketing, this also includes other important add-ons like media planning, web development, advertising design, copywriting, etc. Now that we have established the basics of digital marketing and understand what it is, let’s dive deeper into the topic to find out what digital marketing strategies are.
